About the Author
Paul Shields was trained in philosophy, receiving a B. A. from Earlham College and an M. A. and Ph. D. from Fordham University. He did post-graduate work in computer science at the University of Waterloo in Canada, and has taught and managed information technology at such schools as Silver Lake College, Beloit College, the College of Santa Fe, St. Ambrose University, Hanover College, and Lake Forest College. For the past ten years he has taught computer science at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts.
